STB COVID-19 ADVICE AND GUIDELINES FOR RESTART OF TENNIS- JULY 6, 2020 MODIFIED.

The measures of the National Covid-19 management team are always our starting point, which everyone must adhere to. Fortunately, tennis is one of the sports where social distancing is possible and can be practiced safely by following the right guidelines.

BEFORE LEAVING HOME

  • Only the strictly required sports equipment
  • Two masks (if necessary for entering and leaving the club)
  • Own hand sanitizer or alcohol (60%)
  • Own bath towel and sweatbands
  • Own filled water bottle

AT THE CLUB/COURT

  • Wash or disinfect hands.
  • Get to the job as soon as possible (avoid socializing)
  • Greetings from a distance (do not shake hands or give hugs)
  • Place bags/equipment at least 1.5 meters apart.
  • Keep your distance as much as possible
  • Cough and/or sneeze in a tissue or in the elbow (immediately throw tissue away in a bin) and immediately disinfect hands.
  • It is ideal to play with family members or roommates; this has the least contamination risk.
  • It is advisable that persons over 60 years of age and / or persons with underlying health problems such as obesity, lung diseases, diabetes, high blood pressure, asthma, etc.

*Be extra alert and take the necessary precautions during this period.*

  • Persons who have been in contact with a confirmed Covid-19 infected person or persons with flu symptoms in the past 14 days, especially fever, cough, sneezing or other symptoms of illness must stay at home.

*Absolutely no personal items such as water botles, towels, sweatbands, caps and rackets to share with others, not even friends.*

  • Avoid touching benches, fences, etc as much as possible.

WHILE PLAYING ON THE COURT

Avoid physical contact, keep 1.5 meters away. Remove the mask once you are on the track. If it is a disposable mouth cap, put it in a plastic bag and throw it away and disinfect the hands. If required by the club, use an additional face mask before leaving court. First disinfect your hands before using the clean mouth mask.

  • If it is a reusable mouth mask, remove it by holding it by the cords and disinfect the outside with alcohol and keep in a tightly closed bag. If required by the club, use an extra (clean) face mask before leaving the court. Disinfect hands before using the clean mask.
  • In case of doubles, avoid incidental contact.

Avoid touching the face, nose, and mouth while playing. Don’t high five, shake hands, or give hugs (give racket fives). Also keep your distance during changeovers and rest breaks. Afterwards it is advisable to disinfect the racket and the tennis balls with an alcoholic spray. Wash of disinfect hands after playing and go home as soon as possible to avoid socializing

COACHING/LESSONS

  • Max 5 people in a group lesson including the coach.
  • Any pupils showing flu of cold symptoms should stay home
  • If the coach notices that a pupil is ill, he or she is not allowed to participate in the lesson and must go home immediately.
  • Players and coach greet each other from a distance
  • During class and breaks, keep players and coach 1.5 meters apart from each other as much as possible.
  • Do not share drinks and food.
  • No highfives, shaking hands or give hugs (USS the racket to high five here too)

Disinfect or wash hands after class.

It is advisable that the coach disinfects equipment such as balls, cones, etc. At the start if each lesson.

TENNIS EVENTS/TOURNAMENTS

For the time being, the advice is not to organize tennis tournaments or tennis events.

The STB follows the instructions of the Covid-19 management team and COTECC/TIF and will adjust the advice of guidelines based on this.
